This page includes all upcoming and past opportunities for the public to get involved in Utica’s NY Forward program. Please note that all Local Planning Committee (LPC) meetings are open to the public, and time will be reserved for public comment at the end of each LPC meeting. Public event and LPC meeting summaries, presentations, and agendas will be prepared and made available as they are completed.

Local Planning Committee Meeting #1
The first LPC meeting is open to the public and will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the first-floor meeting space of the Utica Children’s Museum, located at 106 Memorial Pkwy, Utica, NY 13501. Please note that this is the confirmed date and location for the meeting, replacing the previously announced details.
This first meeting will provide an overview of the NY Forward program and planning process, define the LPC’s role and responsibilities, review the City of Utica’s NY Forward application, and facilitate a discussion related to the vision and goals for Utica’s NY Forward program. Time will be reserved at the end of the meeting for public comment.
Decarbonization 101 Webinar
Decarbonization 101 Webinar for DRI Round 9 and NY Forward Round 4
This webinar will provide an introduction to decarbonization and the reduction of carbon emissions through building design and construction. Key topics include an overview of decarbonization and an introduction to different types of decarbonization strategies that can be incorporated into DRI/NY Forward building projects.
Attendees only need to register for one webinar. The same content will be provided at each session.

DRI/NY Forward and Historic Preservation Webinar
This webinar is designed for prospective project sponsors participating in the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Round 9 and NY Forward Round 4. During this session, participants will gain an overview of the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) review process as it relates to the DRI and NY Forward programs. They will also learn how to determine whether a property is listed on or eligible for the State and National Registers of Historic Places, as well as become familiar with basic historic preservation best practices and common pitfalls to avoid.

Boilermaker’s Health & Wellness Expo Pop-up
The NY Forward project team will be onsite at the entrance to the Health & Wellness Expo Popping Up to share more about the NY Forward program. There will be giveaways, visioning exercises, and more! Come with questions and comments - we are here to help.
The Health & Wellness Expo presented by MVHS, located at Mohawk Valley Community College’s (MVCC) Utica Campus, is where all runners pick up their race packets. This healthy lifestyle event offers something for everyone including race merchandise, interactive booths, and more!
